You’ll probably use your travel system nearly every day so it’ll really be put through its paces! Look out for fabrics that are easy to clean, or ideally for completely removable, washable pram cot covers for those messy first few months

Most parents are different heights so it’s worth checking your preferred pram for easily adjustable handle heights as this will make a world of difference to how easy and comfortable it is to push
Manoeuvrability
Check for lockable swivel front wheels and a sturdy lightweight frame for easy manoeuvrability
Design /style
Your baby’s comfort is the priority but it’s also important you choose a design you’re proud to be seen out and about with as you’ll be using it a lot and probably not just for one baby!
Easy, compact fold
Look for a fold mechanism that you can easily master and that is lightweight and compact enough to fit in your car. If you’re buying a pram system its worth finding out if it can be folded in pram as well as pushchair mode
Stylish, practical accessories
Look for a deep and easily accessible shopping basket, a well made rain cover and hood and a snug footmuff to keep your baby warm in winter months. Also check if the offer includes co-ordinating accessories such as a changing bag and parasol for the ultimate stylish all-inclusive package
Non puncture tyres / good suspension
If you’re buying a 3 wheeler look for soft absorbing suspension and for non-puncture EVA tyres, which will save you regularly checking for punctures or having any mid-journey hassles
