The Silver Cross story begins in Yorkshire in England, with a young man called William Wilson. William was a blacksmith, an engineer and an inventor and in 1877 he opened a perambulator workshop on Silver Cross Street in Hunslet, an industrial suburb of Leeds. This was the foundation stone on which the company was built.
